Now you'll need hosting. Although many of the registrars will offer hosting when you purchase your domain, I am of the mind that we shouldn't put all our eggs in one basket. I prefer to host my domain somewhere that doesn't split their time and resources selling domains as well.

Note that there are free hosts available if you can't afford good hosting, but you lose control of your pages when it's hosted on a freehost. What if they close down? All your work is gone. I feel that in order to be sure I retain control of my pages, it's best to host them myself. Hosting can be as cheap as a few dollars a month to as much as several thousand for sites such as facebook and youtube. It really comes down to what your needs are, and the hosts I will recommend in a moment are known in the industry as being reliable and having the best customer service for those you who don't know ftp from abc :)

Be cautious of hosts offering unlimited bandwidth or space and read the fine print of the terms of service as this often causes problems later.
